AEW’s Grand Slam 2024 is set to return to Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York, continuing its tradition of being a special combined edition of Dynamite and Collision. While it’s not a pay-per-view, this year’s Grand Slam promises high-stakes matches, including renewed rivalries and championship showdowns. The event kicks off on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with Dynamite airing live, while additional matches will be featured during Collision on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
In one of the night’s biggest matches, Bryan Danielson will face Nigel McGuinness, renewing a fierce rivalry that has spanned decades. McGuinness, who returned to the ring at All In, will wrestle his first singles match in over 13 years against Danielson, with the AEW Title not on the line, possibly setting up a dramatic victory for McGuinness.
Also on Dynamite, Jon Moxley will battle Darby Allin for Allin’s AEW Title shot. If Moxley wins, he could challenge Danielson for the AEW Championship, making this a crucial match for both competitors.
Other key matches include Mariah May defending her AEW Women’s Championship against Yuka Sakazaki, and The Young Bucks defending their AEW Tag Team Titles against Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher, a potential match of the year contender.
