This week’s Friday Night SmackDown is set to deliver explosive matchups and pivotal storylines leading into the highly anticipated Crown Jewel 2024 PLE in Saudi Arabia. WWE pre-taped this show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, ensuring top-notch excitement despite many stars already en route to Riyadh. The event will showcase superstars like Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Randy Orton, and Bianca Belair as they build momentum for their Saudi Arabia clashes.

In the opening match, The Street Profits—Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins—will face Pretty Deadly’s Elton Prince and Kit Wilson. The Profits are seeking redemption after a recent setback in the WWE Tag Team Championship contender’s tournament, and they’ll be looking to get back on track.

In a preview of their Fatal 4-Way WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship bout at Crown Jewel, one competitor from each team will clash in a singles Fatal 4-Way match. This intense setup pits Bianca Belair, Iyo Sky, Lash Legend, and Piper Niven against one another as they look to gain an early edge before the upcoming title showdown.

Liv Morgan faces dual action as she takes on Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton. First, Morgan will have a prelude to her Champion vs. Champion match with Jax at Crown Jewel. Following this, she battles Money in the Bank 2024 winner Stratton, who will likely use the match to weaken Morgan before her bout with Jax.

Also on the card, Naomi and Bayley team up to take on Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell after last week’s interference by Hartwell. Tensions will undoubtedly be high as Naomi seeks payback for the attempted attack.

The Bloodline storyline intensifies as Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso reunite. Fresh off last week’s action, where they defended the WWE Tag Team Championship, the OG Bloodline will address the WWE Universe, reigniting anticipation for the faction’s future moves.

In the main event, fan-favorites Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will join forces against Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser from the Imperium faction. This clash was set up after Gunther and Kaiser’s ambush of Rhodes, with Orton stepping in to defend his partner, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown that could shift momentum heading into Crown Jewel.
